Midwest Tradition – Top Selling
Dentsply Midwest’s best selling handpiece, the Midwest Tradition is lightweight (1.8 oz), stainless steel, and provides ample torque for a 10.2mm diameter head. Power Lever chucking mechanism is a little more forgiving with varying bur shank sizes, providing very good grip. Pushbutton is also available for these which seems to be the most popular with dentists. The lever type can be converted to PB with the purchase of Pushbutton turbine and end cap.
Midwest Tradition – Small Head with Good Torque
The Tradition highspeed handpiece has been around a long time, which is a testament to durability. Dentists continue to prefer this particular size head, provided ample torque can be delivered. Turbines degrade fairly rapidly with repeated sterilization, but are relatively cheap to replace, and can be rebuilt by repair technicians.
Quick connect capability can be achieved with an additional purchase of the coupler system which is one of the most affordable on the market.
